Green Initiatives :

• PVG’s COET participated in Kirloskar Vasundhara Green college Clean college competition this year and bagged third prize trophy.
• PVG’s College of Engineering & technology Pune, had participated in “Green College Clean College competition under 13^thKirloskar Vasundhara International Film Festival conducted between 3^rd January 2019 to 7^thJanuary 2019.
• The college faculty and student team had prepared a video on green Initiatives taken in college on various issues like Wet & Dry Waste management, Energy Management, E-waste Management and cleanliness in College and Campus.  The video was presented to Kirolskar Vasundhara Jury members for selection of PVG’s COET for the actual visit of Jury members to the campus.
• PVG’s COET was selected out of 40 participating colleges in Pune city for inspection of green initiatives by Jury members.

2. A guest lecture was conducted on 28^th Feb.2026 in conference hall of college on “Quantum Computing” by Mr. Pratul Deshpande through Science Forum club. Sir covered the areas in Quantum Computing viz, difference between classical and quantum computing, superposition states and entanglement etc. to F.Y.B. Tech student on occasion of Science Day Celebration.

A guest lectures were conducted on 20/02/2024, Thursday “Understanding Entrepreneurship” by Ms.Manisha Tapaswi, A Program Manager at DeAsra Foundation & Alumnus of TISS(Tata Institute of Social Sciences) &ISTD during Student Induction Program 2024-25.Madam encourages for Self-employment by explaining the various entrepreneurs success stories. Also Pooja Sinha, Regional Hub Manager,DADB  India, Heartfulness Trainer gave the Mantra of Holistic Growth and Personal Satisfaction and Self- discipline to students in the title” Behind the Noice: Finding clarity through Meditation”.

• On occasion of Navy Day ,4 th December, a guest lecture was organized on 4th Dec, 2023 by R. Admiral Ashish Kulkarni on “Indian Navy Day”. He started with a video showing a beautiful song sung and prepared for the Indian Navy on occasion of Navy Day. Sir showed a documentary on the history of Indian Navy in which he depicted information right from the LathalHarappa-3000BC, medieval period, arrival of European power to Indian Soil, capture of Indian coasts by European warriors etc. He talked about how Indian Navy came into existence in the 1st decade of 16th Century. He also motivated students, especially girl Students about the pportunities in the Indian Navy as a fruitful career in Indian Navy.

• Japan Program for Study Go Work Japan was introduced by Mr.Prajwal Channagiri on 5/12/2022 for First Year Students in Auditorium with the help of college Language Coordinator Dr.Minakshi Atre.

Academic Year 2025-26

• From our department, nine faculty members successfully completed the online Faculty Development Program on ‘CO-PO Attainment’ organized by Dr. D. Y. Patil College of Engineering, Akurdi, held from June 16th to June 20th, 2025. Concurrently, ten faculty members participated in and completed the Faculty Development Program on ‘Research Methodology, Ethics, and Publication Tools,’ organized by the Mechanical Engineering Department of our institute during the same period.
• The Scopus Orientation Program was held on Monday, July 21st, 2025, for faculty members of the Engineering Sciences and Humanities Department. The session was led by Dr. Sachin Suryawanshi, Research Coordinator, who not only introduced participants to the Scopus platform but also emphasized the relevance of NIRF rankings in the context of institutional autonomy and strategic growth.
• On July 24th, 2025, Prof. Sanket Chikshe, SPOC (Single Point of Contact) and NPTEL College Coordinator from the Mechanical Engineering Department, conducted an orientation session on the ‘Self-Learning Facility’ for all First-Year teaching staff. The session emphasized the significance of NPTEL as a powerful platform for self-directed learning, highlighted the value of online certification courses, and discussed the strategic importance of such initiatives in aligning with NBA and NAAC benchmarks for both institutional and departmental excellence.”
• The Valid Education Cell, in collaboration with the Department of Engineering Sciences and Humanities, organized a one-day Faculty Orientation Program on June 7th, 2025. The program was designed for faculty members across the university who teach the ‘Human Values’ subject to second-year students. A total of 95 participants benefited from this initiative.
• A remarkable achievement from the First Year BTech Department — 15 dedicated teaching faculty members have successfully completed NPTEL courses across diverse disciplines, earning high scores and demonstrating their unwavering commitment to academic excellence and continuous learning.
• Department of Engineering Sciences and Humanities organized 3 days online International Symposium Conference on” Niche Areas of Sustainable Development: from 3 rd Nov. to 5th Nov.2025.There were more than 400 participants from various countries.
• R. V. Vichare has published a research article titled “AI-based predictive maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems: a comprehensive review” in prestigious journal “Energy Informatics” published by Springer Nature publications. It is indexed in the Scopus database. Use of AI & ML technology in solar photovoltaics systems is reviewed in this article.
• PVG’s College of Engineering, Technology and Management, Pune had organized “SPPU Start-up Bootcamp 2026” in association with SPPU Centre of Innovation, Incubation & Enterprise and Wadhwani Foundation, on 9th and 10th of Feb.2026. There were more than 200+ students’ participants from various colleges and were benefited with this workshop. The resource person for this event was Rishabh Gill, VC & CEO, Gill Capital.
• Through the Bootcamp, students benefited with the knowledge- fundamentals of Design Thinking, Skills developed- by providing hands-on skills in venture idea validation, customer needs identification, competitor analysis, and value proposition design., Learning– Students learnt to identify real-world problems and build viable solutions using structured entrepreneurial frameworks from the Wadhwani Ignite modules.
• The outcome of this Bootcamp was -78+ startup venture ideas were registered under the Wadhwani Ignite Boot Camp Venture Idea Development Program.
• Under the Women Grievance Cell ,”Gender sensitization ” and “POSH”, awareness program was conducted by the member from our department, Prof.Mrs.V.S.Samant from 9th Feb to 12th Feb 2026 . The session was taken by Lawyer Mrunal Patel madam. students participated actively during the lectures.
• As a part of academic enrichment, a Science Park visit to Pimpri Chinchwad Science Park, Pune was organized for First Year B.Tech. students (65 number of students) along with 4 faculties to enhance their understanding of basic engineering and scientific concepts through practical exposure on 13^th 2025, Saturday from 2pm to 5pm.
• A Industry visit to “High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL), Pune” was organized for F.Y.B.Tech Students on 27th Feb.2026, Friday from 2pm-4: 30pm.The agenda of visit was to give students exposure to research laboratories working in defense technology. The laboratory operates under the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and is one of India’s leading research centers working in the field of high energy materials, explosives, propellants, and advanced defense technologies.
• A visiting lecture was conducted by Prof.Mrs.R.A.Girme, On Basic Electronics Engineering subject to First Year students on 19^th2025, Friday from 2pm to 4pm. Topics Covered: Brief of all units, Marking scheme, Paper Pattern Discussion, Question bank.
• A lecture was conducted by Dr.M.B.Naikwade for Second Year Students of Electronics and Telecommunication on 27^th2026 from 3pm-4pm on the topic “Role of Nanoparticles in Nano electronic and Nano devices”. There were 70 students present for the lecture.

• Department of Manufacturing Engineering & Industrial Management department of COEP college Head Dr.Anasane S.S. gave us detailed information about the Idea lab establishment as well as material handling and various supporting labs and equipment’s .

• A face to face FDP from 6th July to 13th July 2024, AICTE approved and sponsored and conducted by IIT Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on UHV-III(Understanding the Human Being, Nature and Existence comprehensively ) in Hindi attended by First Year Engineering Department faculty  S.G.Gatte,Prof.A.S.Mirashi and Prof.M.S.Kore.
• First Year respective subject Faculties attended one day SPPU FE 2024 Syllabus Orientation Workshops during August 2024 at various institutes.
• On Tuesday, 20th August 2024 FE Department in association with SPPU Board of Mechanical conducted successfully NEP FE 2024 syllabus Orientation Workshops of Design Thinking Idea Lab    2. Manufacturing practice Work shop.
• There were 150 participants in both the workshop. The Certificates were awarded to all participants.

• Mahesh Kore had invited as a Panelist for mini conference on Universal Human Value on 26th October 2024 hosted by the HSMC Department of the Applied Sciences and Humanities and the Multidisciplinary Studies Department of Pimpri Chinchwad College of Engineering.
• As per NEP2020, The First-Year Engineering (FE) program at PVG’s COET & GKPIM, Pune, has successfully initiated the SPPU FE 2024 Co-Curricular Course, focusing on providing students with each session led by experts from various specialized fields of Music, Yoga, Meditation, Physical fitness, Painting, Dancing, Personality Development, Short Film making and Physical fitness.
• PVG’s College of Engineering and Technology & GKPIM was one of the Organizing partner for 9th International Conference on Human Values In Higher Society (Including SDGs) from 22nd -24th Non 2024.

• For ICHVHE,Dr.Manoj Tarambale,Principal of PVG’s COET & GKPIM,was chairperson for the institutional presentation by AKTU(Abdul Kalam Technical University),Lakhnow and AKGEC(Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College),Gaziabad during the conference. Sir, ended the sessions by giving his thoughts .
• During this conference.Dr.Manoj Tarambale and Dr.Shrilekha Ghatte , gave the Institutional presentation of PVG’s COET & GKPIM .
• In the International Conference ,from First year Engineering department ,Prof.A.S.Mirashi ,anchored the session also she worked as the panelist for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG),Prof.Mrs.Ranjeeta Ghosh participated in Technical Team and Prof.M.S.Kore also anchored the session as well as worked as panelist for education .
• A guest lecture was conducted by Bombay Stock Exchange Director Mr Jeevan Sonparote (online)from Bombay Share Market followed by Financial Planning of your career by Prof. Devendra Tare (Great Visionary Financial Analyst IIM Ahmedabad) guided students for Financial Planning at the starting from a young age, Information about various websites for budding investors and Education in Finance Management to the FE students in Student Induction Program on 2nd Dec.2024,Monday. Students also interacted personally with the guest after the session.

• Faculties from FE department,Prof.A.S.Mirashi worked as a panelist and Prof.Ranjeeta Ghosh was a participant in the climate Justice meet organized by National Alliance of Public Movements (NAPM).
• As per NEP 2020 , Under Co-Curricular Courses ,Students were given the liberty to select the course of their choice based on their interests. Each course was meticulously designed with a combination of theoretical and practical components. Various activities and assignments were planned to ensure an engaging and enriching learning experience.
• Students enthusiastically participated in the activities, showcasing their creativity, discipline, and eagerness to learn. The feedback received from the participants highlighted their enjoyment and the positive impact of these courses on their overall development
• To supplement classroom learning with practical exposure, the following visits were organized:

1.Yoga Education:– A visit to Yog Vidyadham and Kabir Baug Math Sanstha, Pune, was conducted on 5th December 2024. The students learned about the ancient practices of yoga and their significance in maintaining physical and mental well-being. The serene environment and interactive sessions left a lasting impression on the students.

2.Basics of Music Composition: —Students enrolled in this course visited the Kelkar Museum on 5^th Dec.2024, to observe rare and antique musical instruments. The visit enriched their understanding of the history and evolution of music composition, sparking curiosity and creativity among the students.

• Also Under NEP 2020, Other Co-Curricular Courses were undertaken such as Painting, Physical Fitness, Dancing, Personality Development, Short Film Making. Assessment of all above activities were made by the appointed expertise from respective fields done and submitted to SPPU term work portal.

• During annual social gathering, February 3, 2025 – The prestigious Paintathlon 2025, a 24-hour-long art marathon, was successfully conducted at PVG’sCOET from 10 AM on February 2, 2025, to 10 AM on February 3, 2025. This event, which has been held on a grand scale at the college for the past two years, once again proved to be a remarkable platform for artists and art enthusiasts.

This year’s event was graced by Mr. Sanjay Desai, a renowned professional artist, as the Chief Guest. The inauguration was marked by an awe-inspiring live performance by Vinayak Madhekar Sir, who created a stunning painting while cycling.

• “Kala Spandan” the art exhibition was conducted from 4th Feb to 7th Feb 2025.The inauguration were done by honorable directors Prof.R.G.Kaduskar ,Shri Sunil Redekar and Principle Dr.M.R.Taramble with other departments heads and teaching faculties were present. There were 30 participants from first year , second year ,third year and final year of students. there were 150 exhibits of art work in the  form of painting,sketches,photographs and rangoli.

• A guest lectures were conducted on 20/02/2024, Thursday “Understanding Entrepreneurship” by Ms.Manisha Tapaswi, A Program Manager at DeAsra Foundation & Alumnus of TISS(Tata Institute of Social Sciences) &ISTD during Student Induction Program 2024-25.Madam encourages for Self-employment by explaining the various entrepreneurs success stories. Also Pooja Sinha, Regional Hub Manager,DADB India, Heartfulness Trainer gives the Mantra of entrepreneurship to students in the title” Behind the Noice: Finding clarity through Meditation”.

• AICTE-UHV forum based program on” Value Based System in Industry “ Was conducted for College Students in Auditorium Hall on 30th Nov.2023, Thursday at 3pm to 5 pm.The imminent speakers from Industry Shri.Datta Kaulekar , Director of Forbes Marshall, Shri Shekher Kamble, GM HR of TCS and Aparajita Didi , AICTE Observer of Western Region From Bombay addressed the students. This program was conducted by coordinators Dr.S.G.Ghatte and Prof.M. S.Kore , under “ Value Education Cell”.
•  A Counseling Session for First Year Students was conducted on ” Tense-Free Exam Preparation and Behavioral Aspects “,by college Counseller Madam, Prof.Resha Abhyankar.This session was coordinated by Prof.Mrs.A.S.Mirashi.
•  First Year Engineering Department faculty Prof.Mrs.Archana Samir Kale of Engineering Physics,defended her PhD.on the thesis “Shape Optimization and End Correction Modelling of Reactive Mufflers”, on 30th Nov.2023 at 11 am. The mode of presentation was online.
• First Year Engineering Department Faculty of BXE ,Prof. Vijaya Dattu Kokane completed 12 weeks NPTEL Online Certification course approved by AICTE on ” Cloud Computing”.

• A program for FE , SE and Lakshya Club for our college students was conducted by FE Department on occasion of “Indian Navy Day” , on 4th Dec.2023,Monday. This program was addressed by Chief Guest, Shri Ashish Kaulkarni , Navy Officer. He addressed Glory of Navy by audio and video system. • Industrial visit was organized for FE students at PMPML (Workshop) Swargate and PMPML Depot Katraj on 20/1/2023 from 9am to 3pm by the Subject Teachers.
• First Year Engineering Parent-Teacher Meet was conducted on 13^th2023 followed by Parents interaction with Class-Teachers and subject Teachers.
